Diego Abetia
Diego teaches Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Clarinet & Flute here at AMP!
Diego is an Arizona based musician and music educator. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona Diego started playing the trumpet in 5th grade. In high school Diego started playing the french horn, while continuing to play trumpet in his school's jazz band. After graduating, Diego began attending the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music studying music education.
During his time at the University of Arizona, Diego could be seen performing with the UA Wind ensemble, UA wind symphony, UA Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Vulpes Wind Quintet- a premiere UA undergraduate wind quintet. Outside of the concert hall, Diego spent his time performing as Drum Major of the Pride of Arizona, as well as spending a season marching with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps on Mellophone. Diego graduated from the University of Arizona in 2021 with a Bachelors in Music Education
After graduating, Diego moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where he teaches music students of all ages in his private lessons studio, works as the Assistant Band Director and co-drill writer for the Coconino High School Band program, and is a wind instrument repair technician at AZ Music Pro.
Diego teaches beginner and intermediate Flute, Alto Saxophone, and Clarinet. As for brass, Diego teaches beginner and intermediate levels for all brass instruments and offers lessons at the advanced level for Trumpet and
PArker LAyton
Parker is a saxophonist and woodwind player originally from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. He discovered his love for music early on through the saxophone and participated in numerous honor bands, including All-State and the University of Minnesota Honor Band, even performing with his dad’s blues band. He earned his degree in Applied Saxophone Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he studied under Michael Shults, Aaron Hedenstrom, and Alastair Wright. During his time there, Parker performed as principal saxophonist in the top concert band, won the school’s concerto competition with his saxophone quartet, and was a semifinalist in the Classics Alive Young Artist National Competition. He also composed and arranged across many genres and collaborated with the professional chamber group Ymusic during a year-long residency.
Parker was a four-year member of Eau Claire’s Grammy-nominated Jazz 1 band, playing both lead alto and tenor saxophone. He performed with renowned artists like Doc Severinsen, Bob Mintzer, and Bobby Sanabria. Parker also contributed to Jazz 1’s recognition by DownBeat magazine for the award of Best Undergraduate Big Band in 2017 and 2018. He also performed with the band at the prestigious Midwest Clinic. Beyond saxophone, Parker is also skilled in clarinet and flute, especially in jazz and pit orchestra settings. Now based in Flagstaff, he works as a ski patroller at Arizona Snowbowl and shares a life with his partner, a dedicated local music teacher. Together, they enjoy exchanging ideas on teaching and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
Ashley Wilson

Ashley Wilson is an experienced music educator new to Flagstaff. Originally from Missouri, Ashley has earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Missouri Western State University. During college she learned the basics of all instruments including strings, percussion, brass, and woodwinds. She has been playing the saxophone for 14 years as her primary instrument, and has been studying piano heavily after graduating college.
Since moving to Arizona, Ashley has taught the band program at a public school for two years before teaching students privately here at AZ Music Pro. Ashley specializes in woodwind and piano instruction, but is also great for trumpet or trombone.
